After a three-year wait since their first official visit to Argentina, the Rolling Stones definitely strengthened their relationship with the Argentine public by offering the last out of the five planned shows at the Monumental Stadium, in front of 65,000 people, on Sunday, April 5th, 1998 during their “Bridges to Babylon Tour”, a tour comprising 108 shows throughout the Americas, Asia and Europe.

A little more than two decades after that historical show by the legendary British band, the venue where that unforgettable concert was held was chosen once again for the exclusive multi-format global launch of “Bridges to Buenos Aires”, which consists in an unreleased compilation of the complete show that “Their Satanic Majesties” put up back then. That was the last time Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts and co. were in contact with their fans from this part of the continent before returning to Argentina in February 2006.

The Club’s authorities, journalists specialized in the field and the lucky ones who won tickets through raffles carried out by 40X5 Tributo Bar (the largest Rolling Stones thematic pub in South America) and FM Aspen 102.3, an Argentine radio station, were present at the big event organized by River’s Department of Culture together with the record label Universal Music Argentina, who owns the rights, FM Aspen and the official fans club, which was held on Thursday, November 7th at River’s Auditorium.

Leo Rodríguez, known for being the host of the radio show “Conexión Aspen” and radio presenter, artistic coordinator, music arranger and producer with a lengthy career in the prestigious radio station, gave a brief introduction before the projection of the movie, which features an extraordinary concert, with a fabulous mise-en-scène and an infinite repertoire of classics.
