ESCONMEBOL Libertadores – River’s rival in the round of 16 On Tuesday, the draw for the next stage of the greatest continental championship took place in Luque. River will play against Argentinos Juniors.
After River’s qualification as Group D runner-up, the draw took place on Tuesday, at the CONMEBOL headquarters, and Marcelo Gallardo’s team already knows which team will be its rival in the round of 16: Argentinos Juniors.
Even though the date is yet to be determined, the series should begin in the week of July 13th. The first match will take place at the Monumental Stadium and the winner of the bracket will be determined at Argentinos Juniors’ stadium in La Paternal. The winner of this bracket will play against the winner of the Boca Juniors vs. Atlético Mineiro bracket.
