D’Alessandro and Driussi: two ambassadors with the new jersey The players, who started in River’s Lower Divisions and have won several titles, wore the jersey the Club gave them as a gift.

Andrés D’Alessandro and Sebastián Driussi are two of the ambassadors River Plate has around the world. El Cabezón met with Adrián Varela (Head of International Relations) during his visit to the country to play the CONMEBOL Libertadores for Brazil’s Inter. Meanwhile, the forward was in Buenos Aires spending the holiday season.

Both players received River’s new home jersey with their name and player number during their time in the Club on the back.

D’Alessandro, who will continue his career in Uruguay’s Nacional, won five titles with River: the Clausura Tournament in 2000, 2002 and 2003, the 2016 Argentine Cup, and the 2016 CONMEBOL Recopa.

Driussi (currently playing for Saint Petersburg’s Zenit) won the 2014 Final Tournament, the 2014 Championship Cub, the 2016 Argentine Cup, the 2014 South American Cup, the 2015 CONMEBOL Recopa, the 2015 CONMEBOL Libertadores, the 2015 Suruga Bank Championship, and the 2016 CONMEBOL Recopa.

Some of River ambassadors around the world are Lucas Ocampos, Emanuel Mammana, Javier Mascherano, Erik Lamela, Roberto Pereyra, Matías Kranevitter, Ramiro Funes Mori, Leandro Chichizola, Manuel Lanzini, and Gonzalo Higuaín.
