Before the professional team's trip to Orlando, Leonardo Díaz visited the Monumental Stadium offices and signed his contract with Club Atlético River Plate: the contract lasts until December 2024.

The goalkeeper had his debut playing for the First Division in the match against Boca Juniors, at the League Cup, due to the team’s COVID-19 cases that were confirmed the day before. In that important match, Leo had an outstanding performance throughout the 90 minutes and in the penalty shoot-out, and he was one of the key figures.
