The U-16 team made it onto the podium in London River’s representatives lost on penalties against Manchester City and couldn’t make it to the final.

On Friday morning, Argentina time (afternoon in London), River’s U-16 team was presented in the international championship, in which European teams, as well as three South American teams took part (River, Palmeiras and Brasil’s Inter). In the first match, the River boys lost 2-1 against Tottenham. The goal was scored by Encinas.

On Saturday, in the remaining matches, River won 3-1 against Everton (Serrago -2- and Araujo) and 3-0 against Fulham (Guallama, Encinas and Nassif).

On Sunday, River tied 0-0 against Manchester City, but lost 3-2 on penalties. Thus, it finished third.

Furthermore, Axel Encimas received an award for best player of the tournament. It’s the first time this is awarded to a player who wasn’t in the final.
